A SOFEA Run collaboration with CAT Telecom of Thailand to unite the ASEAN community. This event is CAT’s first ever virtual running event in conjunction with Thailand’s biggest 10k road race.
Participants of this event were also entitled to join sub challenges which included i) Marathon Challenge (21km or 42km) and ii) Fun Run Challenge (10km). Winners of these sub challenges were given tickets to join the respective physical events in Thailand.
Celebrating their 90th anniversary back in 2019, the alumni of the Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK), Malay College Old Boys’ Association (MCOBA) in collaboration with Bungwak Events (BWE) introduced the inaugural virtual Bungwak Run (BWR). Dubbed as BWR x Heritage, this event championed a cause – National Heritage. BWE together with SOFEA Run agreed that a pre-defined percentage of the registration fee (and other donations, if any) will be contributed to Badan Warisan Malaysia (Malaysia Heritage Council) for the restoration and preservation works of National Heritage buildings and sites in Malaysia. Participants were required to complete a minimum of 9.6km (approximately 6 miles) within 22 days. Weekly challenges were also introduced to encourage runners to stay active. 183 participants joined the event.
A SOFEA Run event greatly supported by CAT Telecom of Thailand to commemorate the heroes and victims of the Tham Luang Cave incident. The event garnered 1,194 participations. Participants had 25 days to complete the 10km requirement. Only the built-in SOFEA Run tracker was allowed to be used for this event. Part of the proceeds from this event was donated to Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Non National Park Foundation.
